SWEET THORN

Inspired by the Vachellia karroo one of South Africa’s most beautiful trees. The integration of sharp thorns with delicate flowers and leaves is a display of resilience and adaptability. A testament to the power of nature – how it often finds ways to protect itself and flourish despite adversity.

The sweet thorn range may be sharp and imposing, yet this also adds to its unique beauty and strength. These pieces make for a strong statement or a symbol of strength and resilience, qualities that deserve to be adorned and celebrated.

Vachellia karroo, commonly known as the Sweet Thorn, and known for many years as Acacia karroo, is one of South Africa’s most beautiful trees. It is integrally part of our country’s history having been used for everything from raft-making to sewing needles and fencing for houses. The thorns were even used by early naturalists to pin the insects they collected.
